Percival was a nephew of George Argyle, the founder of the Abingdon dairy by that name. The family were traditionally of Non Conformist religious adherence. For more information about George and the family business read the article published by the AAAHS on their "Abingdon Buildings and People" website on this link:

Other serving members of the Argyle family
Percival (featured above) was also shown in this collection of photographs in a newspaper which featured all the young men from this address who had enlisted. The contemporary obituary above mentioned "three brothers serving at the front" but there does not seem to be an entry in the Abingdon Roll of Honour for each of them, there being only 3 in total including Percival's.
In the postcard below there is mention of "Aubrey" joining a regiment which the writer at first thinks is Wiltshire and later amends to Warwickshire. The Roll of Honour has an Aubrey Argyle as being in the Durham Light Infantry. This does not match with the newspaper details of either of the sons of Mrs Argyle whose names begin with A. Did the writer have it wrong or did a change of regiment take place? - Percival's own career shows that some men chose to change regiment to meet their aspirations for active service.
